This is what our bathroom looked like when we bought the house... Ahhh, now I remember why it took so long to get the reno done. And it's still not finished. We've got some pieces of joinery coming soon so we can finish it

Plymouth Rock
Received a phone call last night from a mate about a point of pullet that has started to crow..... One mans loss is anothers gain i suppose.. Now i don't need to go to Elizabeth Town, and a Plymouth Rock is a much nicer bird that the Rhode Island Red..

Mowing
One acre of paddock means a lot of mowing, but mowing is a family event at our place. Load the kids in the trailer and we're away. I don't think we'll ever tire off it..... Bring on spring!!

Oktorberfest
Preparations for the Hillwood Homebrew Competition are in full swing... This years challenge brew is a Pilsner, not really my style but I'm giving it a bash anyway.Would you believe the optimum brewing temperature for this beer is 11-15 degrees?? Perfect for our house....
With my homegrown hops i've got this one in the bag!!!!

Bringing the women back in line
So we have 9 hens, and no one to keep them in line. A barnevelde would have been nice, but he was already gone when i phoned (sold, not dispatched off)
Turns out old mate has plenty of Rhode Island Reds. I wonder if they're up to the task of controlling 9 women??

Is it disturbing.....
That i find these tractors attractive???
As a boy i used to go with Dad to fix Fendt tractors all across the state, as he was the only one that knew anything about them. I still thing they are the best looking tractor going round..

My Favourite Spot
Fast becoming my favourite spot is the front deck of our house. Perched precariously close to the 100km/h speed limit road that runs at it's edge, it offers the most surreal (I hate that word) spot to watch the world go by

Inaugural wood fired roast dinner
So I'm loving the wood oven. Something primeval about lighting and fire and then cooking on it.
Had the father-in-law round for tea a while ago when the mother in law was out of town. Roast pork, beef, potatoes, spare ribs and pumpkin. The oven was a bit too hot, the ribs were a lot dry and crunchy.. Impatience is one of my strong points......
