How clever am I!! Might need to choose complex beers that need a couple of samples in order to make informed tasting notes....

Don't you hate it when......

you lick the whisk you've just used to whip the cream that you were about to put on the scones that contained some of the cream you've just whisked that you were going to have for supper with your cup of tea and realise that the cream is off!!! Oh well, chocolate it is....

Great start to the week!

Woke up this morning to find someone had put a water well in for us on our driveway!!!

This is right on the spot where the water bore people drilled and couldn't find water??? The hole is about a metre in diameter and about 4 metres from our house!

Concerned? Well maybe just a little.. Probably the last thing i wanted to start a week where i have to do a pre tender estimate for a $7m project, prepare for and teach at the Skills Institute for 2 days, and prepare a talk for Sunday. Oh yeah, and got a box with some flies yesterday that I am itching to try out...... I wonder what the first thing will be to get ticked off the list....

Snow!!!!

We were greeted by the sight of a snow blanketed Western Tiers this morning. I love snow, and have been waiting for this all winter

Pateena Pilsner

Bottled my first homebrew at Pateena Road on Saturday. The soon to be award winning Pateena Pilsner (I live in hope)

This will be my entry at this years Hillwood Oktoberfest. Note my secret Hallertau hop concoction boiling away in the pan. Not too long to maintain all those lovely homegrown hop aromas..

Strange.....

This arrived in the mail today.... anonymously.... It was mailed from sydney, to our old address...

All this rain we've been having saw the South Esk break its banks early friday morning. Ideal time to go drown a worm, but i had promised someone to help out build their house.Missed a golden opportunity but i'm sure there's bound to be a few more..Anyway, I came across this worm fly

I'll be ordering a few of these in time for the next expected downpour. Flinging a worm fly has got to be more exciting then the conventional bait fishing method...
